Friendship is a Sheltering Tree

That's a quote from Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
So thank you all for the hugs and messages and for
being my 'sheltering tree'.

The loss of a friend is hard to bear Pat - I have gone through it and will shortly be going through it again. That tree image and the quote are so apt and so comforting. Also I think looking at the wider context of the terrible suffering all over the world aren't we lucky to have friends in the first place and to give one another love and support.

Your messages have helped a lot, thank you all again. I feel less numb today, but have to admit to anger and the 'Why did it have to happen?' feeling that I know we all get in circumstances like this.

Hiya Pat.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. I've just had a peek at yours - very naughty seeing as I am supposed to be working. I got quite engrossed and will have a proper look at lunchtime! Congrats on all your successes - WOW you have done well. I've had a short story accepted by My Weekly - hopefully it will be published in December sometime. It's called 'The Yellow Balloon'.

Do they let you know when they are using your story? They've already paid me for it.

Hugs are lovely, Vanilla and Fionnuala, thank you both.

About time, too, Flowerpot *smile*

Hi, Annie
Good to see you here. It's fun reading blogs we haven't visited before, isn't it!

Congratulations on the MW story. I haven't had any shorts accepted by them - just the novella - so I can't answer your question. I'll try to find out, though.
