Writing while Puppies Sleep and...

...mopping up leaks!

After a last but one edit of the picture book I wrote this week during T&Ts' nap times, I went to make a much deserved coffee. At first, when I saw the flood on the kitchen floor, one of the Ts had done a huge wee. In a way, I wish that had been it. But, no! Old house, old plumbing = water flooding from pipes inder the bath (or somewhere in the bathroom) down into the kitchen.

So I turned the water off, mopped up, phoned the odd-job guy and mopped up again - and again and again. Then I though 's*d it', threw a few old towels down, came back into my study to do the final edit and left Tim and Ted using wet towels as a skating rink.

Here's another of my fun mock-ups I did for my picture book.

Have been wondering all week how the two T's were doing - hope you are surviving those first few weeks - it can only get better.

Thanks, Christina
I thought you'd like Sid!
Leak is fixed BUT now have a huge hole in the kitchen ceiling. Odd-job had to pull part of it away to get to the leak.

Yes, they had a whale of a time, Tam!
Watch for an email *smile*

They really aren't much trouble, maybe because they keep each other amused. The earliest they've woken in the morning is 5-45am - usually it's 7ish.
They send puppy love to you and Tess.

Hi, Amanda
Glad you liked the mock up pic.
I SO wish I could draw.
As for T&T skating - no flipping film in the camera when we needed it!

Poor you with the leak, I hope it's sorted out quickly, mind you the pups sound like they're having great fun.

Debs, Tam (again) and Sara
So glad you like Sid. It was a fun book to write.

Still leak-free, odd job fixed it fine, he'll be back Monday to fix the big hole - more mess for the Ts to play in.

Better not let my furry N&Ns read this post, Auntie Helen, it might give them ideas!

Tiny Tim is adorable. You lucky thing.

I love the picture book. It's funny the things you don't know you're missing when your children grow up. It used to be a treat to go to the bookshop once a month with the boys and stock up on picture books - as much for me as for them.

Those puppies certainly know how to make the best of a difficult situation!

I still love reading picture books as well as writing them, Fiona.

Honeysuckle, I'm glad the 2 Ts couldn't reach the hole in the ceiling!

Hope you get the leak fixed soon, though I'm sure T&T are having a fine time skating on the floor - thing is, can you tell puppy leaks from well, pipe leaks? :-)
