"A good leak in June sets All Things in Tune"

I so hope that old country saying won't come true in the House up the Hill. I wrote about a leak on March 28th. We've had two more leaks this month with water pouring through the kitchen ceiling again - in a different place from previously. This time it was the hot water cylinder - we're on spring water here which is great except for the fact it eats its way through copper. So plumber came and put a new cylinder in. Trouble was, as we found out the next morning, a joint (or something!) on the cylinder was faulty and let water out. *Sigh*

In spite of that, I have managed to write a synopsis and 2 chapters of a new book.
When do you write your synopsis?
I will never, ever again write one before getting a word of the book on paper. OK, I know you're not tied to the synopsis but once it was written, it was in my head and it made it much harder than usual to get the 'magical' first lines right.
The 2 Ts aren't in the book as themselves - but in a way the 2 human MCs have a lot in common with Tim and Ted - and there are puppies in it who do some of the things T&T do.

Speaking of Tim and Ted...

"Do you think we've grown?"

"It's June 1st tomorrow. Let's remind all our blog mates to say 'White Rabbits' three times over in the morning before speaking to anyone."

Urgh, bad luck over all the water problems. Spring water does sound wonderfully cleansing but the practicalities seem like a nightmare.

Well done on the new work. I find a synopsis written in haste means a fair bit of revision later on...

Oh dear. I am crossing my fingers that that's the end of your water problems!

They've GROWN so much; Wow.

Oh dear, I wake up at 5.45am to get the kids ready ... I'm not sure I shall remember to say anything except 'wakey wakey, time to get up for school.' I promise to try, though.

T&T have got sooo big! And so gorgeous.

Hope that's the end to your waterworks problems:-)

T and T have grown enormously. They look a real houseful, Pat.
Sorry about the water spillages.

Yes - it would be lovely to meet - we are not all that far away from each other, are we?

I always say "abracadabra, fiddle de dee, gobbledegook" on the first of the month - now for superstitions sake I shall have to add White rabbits!
Happy June to you, with no leaks.

Yes, T&T, you have grown! We've been having great fun bringing awful things in the house for Mummy. This week we've managed a live bird and a frog so we're quite proud of ourselves. Lots of love from your Furry Cousins.

Commiserations on the leaks, they're such a pain to have.

Well done on the writing front though. I do a vague synopsis, and invariably the end result is completely different.

Loving the photos. T&T have definately grown. They're so adorable.

Ooh, poor you with the leaks!

The two ts are sooo gorgeous, and growing so fast!

Good luck with your new work. I'm just thinking about writing a synopsis - very scary indeedy xx

So sorry to hear about the leaks...that's awful!! Still, the saying goes that these things come in threes so you should be fine from now on :-)

I can't believe how much they have grown!!

Oh, my goodness. T&T are huge. What are you feeding them on? Oh, wait. I know what you're feeding them on. It'll be the garlic...

Sympathies re the leaks - and the synopsis. I never write a synopsis until the book is finished. Hate the things. :o)

Pat Posner said...

Tam, I'm afraid you're right - on both counts.

J.J. You'll never believe it! First words I said were after a loooong sneezing fit at around 6am and they certainly weren't White Rabbits!

Pat Posner said...

Lane, 'my' waterworks certainly suffered - imagine 4 burly male plumbers, 1 old cylinder, 1 new cylinder, taking over our small bathroom for hours. No separate loo in the House up the Hill.

Pat Posner said...

Hope you remembered your mouthful, Weaver.

T&T thank their furry cousins for the great ideas, 'Auntie' Helen. And send licks to everyone.

Makes you wonder why we bother with syns, doesn't it, Debs!

Pat Posner said...

Shauna, will be in touch soon.

Hi, Kate, the syn isn't the problem - it's the trying to forget it while I write.

Thanks, Amanda
Good luck to you as well.

Bad luck with the leaks and I forgot to say White Rabbits...is that water I can hear?!

Pat Posner said...

I hope you're right, Carol!
Shirley - don't forget the pilchards.

Crystal, it isn't THAT corner - this leak dripped through into the middle of the kitchen. TWICE.

Welcome, MelRox, and thanks for the crossed fingers.

Fionnuala, it really hadn't better be.

I really hate writing synopses - most of all! Your pups have grown so much!

Chris Stovell said...

Oh, blime - I have read this too late to stop the bad luck - I hope you said it and it stopped your leaks. My! T&T are all grown up now!

Honeysuckle said...

Bad things come in threes so your three leaks should actually be the end of it the run of bad luck. Let's hope so.

Karen said...

Look at those lovely doggies :o) Glad the leaking is fixed now, what a nightmare!

And don't even mention synopsisisis - I'm going to have to start one soon and they're not my strong point at all!

Your pups are growing so fast! I live with a leak-master (hubby is a plumber) so I know all about them!!!!
Hope all waterfall situations are now finished!!

I'm a coward when it comes to writing a synopsis so I usually leave it until much later. Now you've made me feel that this is in fact a good thing. Thanks!

Hope all leaks are plugged & water remains in pipes & cylinder.

Kat :-)

Oh my! How T&T have grown!

So sorry to hear about all the leaks - I do hope that's the last of it!

Hi, Flowerpot, Chris, Honeysuckle, Michell, Karen, Merlin's Wizard - good to see you here - Kat and Vanilla.

Wow, I've been a lazy blogger so done a catch-up there!

Still got a hole in the ceiling but, yay, have been leak free *so far* this month.
