Happy February

Must do better! Thank you to all who emailed to see if I'm all right. I am! Well, apart from being freezing cold. That's one reason there's been a looong gap between blogs - my study is the coldest room in the house and, because we've got old sash windows, the wind howls it way through the gap. So I haven't been spending as long as usual in front of the computer. Plus, I've been writing the novella but it's slow going - only 3 chapters done so far, and they aren't very long chapters. See... Must do better!
Does your writing slow down in cold weather?

Happy February to you too, Pat.

I can't do anything in the cold. I'm quite pathetic... but then the cold for me at the moment in air conditioning so I think maybe I should shut up...

My writing's always slow!

I can't use my writing room, which is a conservatory, when it's really cold but I just sit in the warmest room with my laptop on my knee. Oh, and a couple of cats draped over me for extra cosiness.

I try kidding myself that the wind howling through the gaps is air conditioning, JJ.

Only a couple of cats, Helen? I so miss having a dog to keep my feet warm, can I borrow a furry niece and nephew?

Happy February to you too Pat!

The cold definitely slows me down. My fingers get cold and I can't sit still too long.

Let's hope this last icy blast blowing over the country will be the last one:-)

Hugs, Pat, stay warm, I can picture you in your lovely house with those beautiful views but knowing where youare those winds would certainly be chilly.

When at the computer I wear two scarves, I have a little oil electric radiator thing which is expensive to run so I am wary of turning it up too high,
Staying still is bad for me, I have lousy circulation.

Do you write straight on the computer?

My everything slows down in cold weather, Pat. I do not want to leave the side of our log fire. Nice to read your blog again. Tess in fine form again and has forgotten it ever happened.

No, it's the better time of the year for me, if only I would keep off the internet. In the spring and summertime if it's warm the garden calls to me.

Good luck with your novella. I'm writing a new story for People's Friend it's going very well. Just hope it's right for them...lol

Best wishes and here a fresh cuppa and a warm blanket for your legs.

Annie

Brrrrrr.... you made me feel a bit chilly thinking of those winter drafts! My house is also cold. Roll on spring!

I've found it harder to write as I've been in the house. I much prefer being in the shed, but it's far too cold out there. I'm longing for the warmer weather to make an appearance and get back to normal.

Lane, the icy blast has really blasted since I posted. First the sleet, then it got more like snow which settled a bit and now...
A clear sky freezing the settled snow and I've never felt such an icy wind before.

Chilly is rather an understatement, Nell *grin*. We had lovely weather when you visited so visit again soon.

Cait, I've got one of those radiators; I've had it turned to double on #5 so I'm dreading the next bill.
I do mainly write straight onto the computer but I also have hundreds of bits of paper with bits of dialogue or starts of scenes on.
I see over on yours your leccy was off, ours is going off for the day on Thursday and, wouldn't you know it, Thursday is half-day closing at the library so I won't even be able to go and get warm there.

Thanks, Weaver, and I'm so glad your Tess is back to normal. LOL, 'I told you she would be fine'.

Annie, I think you're in the minority! Best of luck with your PF sub. Thank you for the cuppa and blanket.

I agree, Tam. I hope we get a Spring though.

I bet Grumpy likes seeing more of you, Debs.

TF, I'm wearing a thermal vest - long-sleeved high-necked on, thermal long johns, 2 sweaters, leggings, thick socks and leg warmers. And 'me' hat as well.
Oh, and I'm wrapped in the blanket Annie W sent.

"must do better" when it's freezing cold is a tough ask in anyone's language. Stay snug and munch lots of dark choccie!

Thought you'd disappeared somewhere hot!!

Yes please, Christina, send some sun - just enough to melt the snow and ice would do.

AV(&A) Dark choccie sounds a good idea.

Nope, still here, CJ.

Happy February Pat!

My writing is frustratingly slow too but that's because I have a day job and other commitments. Writing has to be squeezed into the little pockets of time between them - when I'm not too tired to feel inspired ...
