Do you believe in signs?
I was looking through old photos this morning and came across this one and...
It had a date on the back. March 1st 1990. Twenty years ago! It was the only photo with a date on so it had to be a sign, didn't it? Primple, the cat in the photo, was 15 - she died seven years later. Hmm, was it a sign telling me to write a book about a cat? Or...
Ooooh, the farmhouse in the photo is across the valley on the moors opposite our house up the hill and in one of my books that farm is where Claire Evans, a secondary character, lives. I think Claire, aged 11, must be telling me she wants a book of her own.
So forget Mad March Hares, I've got a Mad March Muse.
Does anyone else believe in signs?

The answer, as you know from visiting my blog today, Pat, is a definite yes!
I think there's a lot of balancing that goes on in the universe, and this was one of those moments for you. Give Claire her own story! She's obviously begging for you to.
Definitely a sign, Pat!
Another sign, Sally, is the fact Claire's mum is called...
Sally!
Hi, Nell
Great to see you here
Must be time for a visit in the flesh!
Are you kidding? I live by them!!
Nice to see on my blog today, Pat. Hope you and hubby are doing well. And of course those gorgeous doggies.
Trusting the weather is behaving for you.
K xx
Definitely a sign! Now, get writing it. :o)
Hope this morning's snow missed you...?
Definately a sign, Pat.
I just think it's spooooky x
Crystal, T&T are fine thank you - full of the joys of spring. It was almost spring-like this morning. Turned cold this afternoon. Hope your pups are behaving.
Shirley...what snow? You haven't been dancing again, have you?
Hi, Debs. Good to see another one who believes in signs.
Yes, L-Plate, I agree - it was a bit spooooky. OK, we'll call it a spooky sign.
Definitely - although we don't always realise what they mean.
Go luck with the sign reading m'dear Look left, look right ;-) TFx
That's a great post, Pat - I do think we 'channel' our subjects sometimes. It's strange how often, once I start thinking about writing material, it crops up everywhere I look. Lovely photo, too.
I'm not superstitious (very!) but I do believe in some signs, yes. How are your two boys?!
I love the idea of a Mad March Muse, and that's a lovely photo :o)
If we see something as a sign I reckon we should go with it.
(Word verification is 'retale' !)
Very true, Helen, I hope I read this sign right.
Looking left again, TF!
Thanks, Chris - hope you're feeling better.
Another believer, Flowerpot. Two boys are in fine fettle. How's Moll?
And Karen's another one who believes. Hmm what can we read into 'retale'?
Yes I do. (believe in signs that is. And in meeting people or finding things at the right time. Makes for good stories too.
Liking the phrase 'Mad March Muse'. In fact would make a good piece of inspiration for a writing exercise....
100% believe in signs. In fact that's how I make most of my decisions.
Just popped over to let you know that there is an award for you over at mine :-)
